Emeco Aluminum Backless Stool
The Emeco Stool was commissioned by MoMA in 2001 for a retrospective of work by the late, world renowned German-American architect Mies van der Rohe.
Emeco was founded in 1944 to make chairs for submarines in WWII.
The 77-step process continues to this day, producing chairs that are
elegantly designed and environmentally friendly. Each chair is
constructed from 80% recycled content and is 100% recyclable. Emeco
employs a proprietary heat treatment that results in aluminum chairs
that are tougher than steel. The restaurant industry is fast-paced and
high-traffic - Emeco stools will withstand whatever demands are placed
