Kong Aluminum Bar Stool
Our Kong Model was created in 2003 for the Kong Chinese Restaurant in Paris, and is now in restaurants from Iceland to China. The one-arm detail was designed by world renowned French Designer Philippe Starck's solution to the problem of elegantly slipping up to the bar. The Kong Model requires 24 separate pieces of aluminum, hand-formed and welded to make each chair, and it takes 8 man-hours to hand polish. It's more like a sculpture than a chair. Emeco (Electrical Machine and Equipment Company) manufactures furniture that is elegantly designed and environmentally friendly ? our furniture is constructed from 80% recycled content. In addition, every Emeco all-aluminum table and chair is 100% recyclable. Emeco furniture is made in the USA which further reduces Emeco?s carbon footprint, which is consistent with our company's belief in environmental awareness. Our Emeco furniture is constructed from upcycled Coca-Cola bottles and composed of 60-65% post-consumer rPET and 30-35% pigment and glass fiber for strength.
