Kong Aluminum Counter Stool with Arms
The Kong Model was created in 2003 for the Kong Chinese Restaurant in
Paris, and is now in restaurants from Iceland to China. The Kong Model
requires 24 separate pieces of aluminum, hand-formed and welded to make
each stool, and it takes 8 man-hours to hand polish. It's more like a
sculpture than a stool.
Emeco was founded in 1944
to make chairs for
submarines in WWII.
The 77-step process continues to this day, producing chairs that are
elegantly designed and environmentally friendly. Each chair is
constructed from 80% recycled content and is 100% recyclable. Emeco
employs a proprietary heat treatment that results in aluminum chairs
that are tougher than steel. The restaurant industry is fast-paced and
high-traffic - Emeco stools will withstand whatever demands are placed
on them.
